Two prints of the new meeting house (Takihiku ,whare-whakairo)

Two albumen prints of the new meeting house (Takihiku ,whare-whakairo, belonging to the former pa called Pua-o-Tau) , near Levin, Horowhenua, nearing completion in 1908. It was a ruin by 1931.

The Auckland City collection has a G F Phillips image taken at the actual opening, on the 17 September 1908, so these predate that by a short time. {last image}.Photographer is unknown. Image size for each is 205mm x 150mm. Both are framed with archival matte boards. Framed size is 380mm x 400mm. Image quality for both is excellent.SOLD
